Yes, I'm bisexual and asexual simultaneously, and here's how that makes perfect sense. Please stop asking.

Call me Becca. 20. Left-winger, atheistic, bi/demisexual dork who's unlikely to let your bullshit slide. Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Torchwood, The Hunger Games, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Teen Titans, some comics, politics, and feminism abound.

Wait, when you say asexuals are "more affected by rape culture", what do you mean? More affected by rape culture than other queer people? Because that wouldn't make sense. Just because people feel sexual attraction doesn't mean they are affected less by rape culture. That would be absurd. Or did you mean you're more affected by rape culture then you are by heterosexism?

No, not what I meant at all. I meant in comparison to heterosexism. Heteroromantic asexuals can’t really claim “queer” status because the slur can’t be used against them.

What I mean is that we’re often belittled and coerced by sexual people who think asexuality is just a phase, that it just means you’re frigid, and all you need is a good dicking to convince you that you’re not asexual after all. That’s corrective rape. “Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder” is also a real thing in the DSM that is used against asexuals, both making us out to be “crazy” and ignoring our non-consent simultaneously.
